Haha. I wish it was that easy. The seat is almost done but the cockpit is down the road.
Your stuff came from Dan at Details4scale. Not totally accurate but pretty decent.
Btw, you owe me some photos still...![]()

Haha, always great to share resources/ideas, etc. Plus its good motivation when others are enjoying/tackling the same build.
Been working on a more scale Martin Baker seat and it's progressing nicely. This one in 1/7 scale, but hope to do other scales once this one is nailed down. Also later in the year the hornet deserves a cockpit so that's on the hit list.

Hey Sean,
How do you like Fusion360? I need a good 3D CAD/CAM program for CNC machining and 3D Printing with my Stepcraft machine. SolidWorks is far too expensive.
If you could reposed or PM me I would appreciate any insight you have on that program (QCAD is starting to limit me)

Dan,
I'm pretty competent with 2D CAD but always wanted to learn 3D and over the Christmas holidays I took the leap and have been learning via trial and error as well as a couple good DVD's I got off Amazon. So far I like Fusion 360. like you I initially looked at solidworks but couldn't come to pay the fees. Fusion 360 is free to students and hobbyists, etc. you just need to renew each year but there is no cost involved. It will do modeling and sculpting, as well as CAM and animations. You can also do FEA analysis if you want so if you designed landing gear for example, you could animate the parts, and put loads on them to test them. pretty cool, but way beyond my ability at this point. Lastly, fusion 360 is cloud based so you can share your work with your iphone, ipad, etc as well as collaborate easily with other people on the same design without having to email files back and forth.
Based on the fact I had no financial investment (until I purchased they dvd's) I felt I had nothing to lose by trying it. I'm using the Mac version but you can also use it on a PC.
