More Scorpion and Mirage kits have shipped so should see them soon. Freewing does not have stock, all of the stock was sold to Aviation Design anyway.

it's about time you guys have come to the dark side. foamies rule. i've had just about all the freewing edfs over the years and they smash into the ground with so much savings over our turbines. you can smash the crap out of a dozen of these and still have money to burn over one turbine model.

As you know, I bought the first generation Freewing Eurofighter and it had lots of low quality problems. The fan was so out of balance it developed a harmonic vibration around half throttle and sounded so bad spectators told me to land before it blew up. Then a wing servo went up in smoke in flight. The landing gear bent and buckled. I upgraded the fan once and the landing gear twice! It's been collecting dust for 2 summers now. To be honest, it turned me off EDFs altogether.
Getting the newest version is very tempting.

I learned how to balance EDF fans a few years ago and it makes all the difference in sound and reliability.
Well worth the effort, even with the older 6 blade variety, although I fly mostly 10-11&12 blade fans now.

Yes , but required lot of patience and knowledge . The beauty with not braking the bank now, you can have a decent 6S fan with a nice sound.
They will never have the efficiency and durability of Stumax, Schubeler and Jetfan system. And foamy fly like foamy!!

Foamy, fly like foamy? I guess you mean that in a positive way right?
In many respects a lighter plane flies better, and what can be built as light as a foam plane? Most models fly way too fast to look scale, but thanks to foam, now you can have the realism of slower speed as you fly.
You just have to take some care during assembly and handling to make them last.
Cheers Eric

No offense but composite plane in my modest opinion fly better and faster and are more durable. I love my Eurofighter , Im sure the Freewing Mirage is fun, still prefer mine (JetArrow with 90 mm Stumax fan)
Different opinion....

Cool. How do these perform off grass, or do you hand launch?
