Absolutely very good looking model. Construction is also very revolutionary. Congratulations to designer. What about the flight characteristics compare to YAK55M or YAK54 ? I have watched the videos of YAK55M and Vertigo3M from the same designer on You tube. I saw Yak55M can do better maneuvers with the same pilot "Jan Spatny".

For all owners of Vertigo and with gas engine setup, can you tell me the total weight of your planes. I want to make some calculus to see if I will obtain under 7 kg. At this moment I made a sum of my electronic and the weight is arround 3 kg, so I must to build the plane until 4 kg empty. Can I?
My engine will be a DLE55RA with canister DLE.

Mine was 7.7kg with the BME58 (lightest single made) and 8.2kg with GP61. Your DLE55 is very close in weight to the GP61. Ed's 2M was 8.4kg because of graphics and not quite as much lightening.
I think in order to get 7kg you would need to go to a lightweight electric setup like Dan and Jan have done.
I wouldn't be too concerned about the weight.... Mine and Ed's at 8.2-8.4kg fly extremely light. If I did another I woukd go DA70 twin which would put me around 8.7-9kg

Badan - YAK 55M 2.8m; EF - Extra 300S 2.3m; Multiplex - Funcub 1.4m; Funjet Extra; Robbe - Mistral 2.0; Freewing - F22 90mm EDF

So, slowly I began to glue the pieces. Before that I made a test with the firewall and I saw that the front face is weaker then the back face and I glue a part form the other material from Dan. I made the holes for the gear and I prepared the place for the canister.

If I may, the Vertigo has for sure larger flight envelope. Badan's yak is a great plane and I had a lot of fun with it! But authority of control surfaces is better on the Vertigo (they are simply larger and the plane is designed to be more happy about any crazy stuff pilot wants - yak may sometimes try to fight you and stay in reasonable attitude). Both planes are really enjoyable to fly, both are different... If i had both of them i would go flying with the Vertigo when i want more 3D, and with yak when its more windy and i want to practise pattern sequences.

Thanks for the comparison Jan!!!
I hope to start my Yak55 in a month or so. I am debating between a 3W110cc or doing it up a little different and go with a TurboProp!!!

Hi Trevor,
I would go with 3W ;-) Build some crazy racing beast around the turbotrop! Im sure Daniel can draw some lines. Make it fly fast and look even faster!

Sounds great Jan!!
3W it is in the Yak55
I'll email Dan and see what he can design for a JetCat SPT-5 TurboProp (similar power to a 100cc gasser)
