Hey Joe, Dale can speak from experience, but I see no reason you can't steer your tail wheel off a "slave" push rod. Probably end up being a little heavier and more complex than a tiller. On some of my planes I haven't even bothered hooking up my tiller/springs to my tail wheels...depending on the surface you fly from the ground handling is decent with the tail wheel free wheeling.

Cory, I wind my own tail wheel spring and leg. Silver solder the tiller to it. A real custom set-up. After 30 years of tail wheel problems I started building my own assemblies (10 yrs ago). Such that I suspend many tail draggers from the tail wheel coil spring in storage, and transport. Wind the LT-40 one out of 3/32 music wire. Wish I could provide a phot, or how-to but that is three provinces west of me now.

Great choice. You will simply love the way it flies. Better yet, the pride of built-by-me added.

Ok guys, update time! I took your advice and cut a plywood double for all 3 sections of the floor to add some strength for my new gear setup, here's what they look like.

Looks great, Joe! Nice work. What are you planning on powering it with?

Nice smile. I sense the pride. Most ARF's run short on that aspect of the hobby.
Post -Lots-, most of us like to follow a build.

I know everyone will be disappointing but its going to be electric, this is the power plant I'm using. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._46_Glow_.html Should be plenty of power for a beginner plane.

Many may not expect "me" to promote electric. But yes, a very good option, when reliable, duplicatable power is an asset. No reason to add dead stick landings to the lesson.
