Ya.. always have had great luck shipping with SDS, however they were recently closed for 2 weeks and only shipped after they got back.

I agree that Canada Customs makes delivery hit or miss.

I have a backup plan if wheels, spinner and tail wheel don't make it by Tuesday

Well.. I couldn't wait for my SDS order, since Tuesday is looking to be a sweet day for a maiden

I had a real nice set of 3DHS wheels that I wanted to keep for another project, but used them here. Also put on a 50cc tail wheel and mounted my 4" Tru Turn. I have a lighter, red CF spinner coming, but this will do

Got the front piece of foam glued to the fuse...hope I wasn't too conservative with the glue, used pu glue and I barely see any squeezing out. Seems strong though! Couldn't get meter sticks so I bought some flat pine trim pieces...still dented the foam slightly, think my clamps were a bit too tight. I don't think it's going to matter once the sheeting is on.

If I choose to use PU glue for the sheeting, what is the easiest way to spread it on the foam? Going to be a big area to get coated!

Trevor, what shipping option are you using for SDS? I plan to order servo arms, spinner and probably a Dualsky GA6000.8 in the very near future.

I just use Hong Kong Air Parcel... the 2nd cheapest alternative.

To spread out the glue on the sheeting, whether PU or epoxy, I use a credit card. But like you did on the fuse sides, use this stuff very sparingly - you can add a ton of weigh on this phase. And if you put on too much, it'll expand under the sheeting and make the sheeting wavy because the shucks with weight only give you 1-2 psi pressure. You should be able to coat the entire fuse skin with 2oz of PU, tops. To help it go further, I mist a bit of water onto the PU on the skin and also mist the foam.

The reason I've gone to Epoxy for the lamination is to avoid the slight expansion that happens under the sheeting with PU, so you can get a very smooth lamination with minimal waviness. The waviness doesn't show much on say 1/16 or 1/8 thick balsa (ie: Carden or Dalton), but the crazy thin 1mm sheeting on the Vertigo shows it more.

So... after my huge ramble... nothing wrong with PU for the 1mm sheeting, but use it VERY sparingly.

Cory pick up some body filler slicks /speaders from can tire they clean super easy you can use the larger ones for mixing boards and they clean by flexing them they are awesome
