    Just to clarify Scott's original question ...replacing the VW is very difficult...I struggled with the decision for a while ...I see it as a one of a kind combination of a very light airframe and the perfect choice for power...no model I have ever flown had the performance that the VW Carden has ...A tribute to the builder that sets the standard in Canada!...but I really like having options when it is too windy to fly!!!

    I have had 2 Norton. One was all original. 1972 NORTON 750 Commando. The other one I found in milk crates. Built the engine and tranny. Chassis was missing parts. No fenders and no forks. So mounted the engine in a 60's Triumph rigid frame with a springer solo seat. And put a 50's Harley Springer front end on it with 20 inch ape hangars.
    Back in high school I built a custom 1943 Harley 45 flat head. Rigid frame, foot clutch and a jockey shift.

    If i can find one of my old grad pics with the 43. I will scan and post it.
