Is it their entire range that is "bad" or just a selection...

    I know , I know...gonna start a servo war!
I've owned many of them and I've had good service out of 99%, but I've had at least three unjustifiable failures on their entry level digitals. 5485's I think they are. Two that just died next to new and one that locked at full throw within it's first 5 or so flights. I won't buy them anymore, and it makes me nervous about trying unknown models of theirs.

oh... and karbonite gears are sh*t.

Please take some of the comments with a grain of salt.
The crowd in here likes to have fun , poke fun and tease.

    That being said........

Hitec has had some QC issues now and again.

Their 7954 servos are generally a good servo. But we have seen them lock up on more than one occasion.
Those particular servos, if they fail. Fail very quickly. Often during set up and they never see the air.
Others have failed after 1 or a few flights. The ones that don't fail, make itthrough plane set up or the first couple flights.
Go on to perform just fine for years.
Percentage wise. Overall. I would say is actually very low based on the 10's of thousands that have been sold worldwide.

7950's and 7980's did have a known jitter issue using straight lipo. But not all of them.
Heck Jr's have jitter ed. So have some of the newer MKS servos.
Savox have never jittered on me. But gear slop does show up occasionally.

    None are perfect LOL

    SWEET !!!
Gonna pack up the ones I have in the 'next plane' boxes and send back for a refurb!!!
I like my hitecs, sure sometimes they jitter but a brand new mks did the same thing on me. Didn't even get a flight in before the show started!!
