I'm an old guy right? I'm going to now confirm that beyond any doubt!
There is a couple of things that really get under my skin when the subject of sports cars comes up.
1) When the *#@$* did sports cars suddenly sprout extra doors??? Four doors??
"Just popped around the nursing home to pick up Gram and Gramps, we're going down to the track to practice a few laps!"
Come on, that's not a sports car!
2) R/T Woo hoo! Hot! Hot!
Then... proceeded by... get this!! Dodge Caravan!
Road and Track... CARAVAN??
"Shift a few more of those soccer kids to the right rear Mom. You will get way better hook up off the next set of lights!"
R/T! Gimme a break!!!
3) Nitro!
Um... didn't I just see you at the pumps?... filling up with... gas?
4) last but no least;
Ever ask this generation, "What's she got under the hood?"

Doing a gear swap on the Vette next week Merv. Going from stock 2.73 to 3.42.
Should wake the car up and be a little more fun around town.

IT only takes five or six Brian to keep things rollin along.
My biggest beef now that I am back into the car scene are the lack of decent roads around to enjoy the car. In my area there just isn't any!
Been to a couple of car shows and it's the same old thing. Too many narrow minded people. I like all cars as long as there cool! Mustang guy's hate Vette guy's, old school guy's hate new modern machines!
I don't really give a Sh!t as long as the car is cool.
Everyone's divided and I just don't get it, kind of the same as the RC scene actually.

EA few of my friends all met up at the cruise night in Orangeville tonight. Really nice turn out. The young guy that runs it tries to do a theme night every week, tonight was GM night. It was a good show, good time.Originally Posted by williame3590

We can go to a cruise night just about every night of the week, here in the west end of the GTA.
Is there a lot of cruise nights down there Bill?

Originally I thought this thread would be about posters rides but the majority of posts are pictures of fantasies that if I had the time could google myself.
I just this spring got our restored TR back on the road after five years in the shop and We are driving the hell out of it, Well as hell as can be considering We are still breaking in the car. We have attended five "open" shows here in the Okanagan so far and all but for one that had two other Brits We have been singly representing the mark. We have met some cool folks and seen some nice American iron both custom and classic but being the only Brit it can be kinda lonesome. We have not yet been snobbed or looked down on, I guess that's just the rural lifestyle of car people. We have two sorta local All British shows happening in August that are judged and We are pre registered and looking forward to attending.
As for Roads = = = WE HAVE THE BEST!!!! Out our driveway and down the hill and three miles north on the four lane 97 to warm the tires and off into a multiple choice of one to two hour loops around some lakes, over some hill climbs and back to home. Every evening We take a good burn and as We get familiar with the roads and the car starts coming into its own the loops just get better and We appreciate more and more the time and money spent on the modifications to the car. Now that the car is starting to perform and I am getting more comfortable with how it is handling We are going to start exploring the country roads to the South. There is no shortage of good roadster routes here just a shortage of bold sensible drivers to travel with.

Just like the Hot Babe thread eh? Zero chance I will ever have one of those!
I'm not really upset Brian, just making fun of what gets passed off as a sports car these days! I was hoping to get some funny comments on the subject especially the last one about what is under the hood!
On that subject, how about a few pictures of what is under the hoods of our favorite cars?

With a hot car and some fancy dud's Merv you can have any women you want! Trouble is, our wives may not like it much! lol
