Merv, I'm at the age now where politics really doesn't get me riled up one way or the other anymore, bigger things in life to worry about I figure, but I do have a question, is the pic of the meadowlark in your avitar one of your locals or off the internet. We haven't seen them here for 30 years or so and used to have lots.....and we can't even blame that on Rachel![]()

I hear ya Ron! I too have seen a lot of coming and going in the political field but I still am totally amused by all the "sky is falling" panic every time there is a change. Election time kind of reminds me of feeding pigs - a lot of pushing, shoving and squealing but when its all over and the pecking order is established you still just have a bunch of fat butts lined up at the trough!
There are exceptions though and one of them is our local Wild Rose candidate. I have seen him in action and he does genuinely care about his constituents. I would vote for him no matter what party he belonged to!

We have lots of meadow larks out here Ron, every year they sing to us from the tops of the trees around our house and from fence posts all around here. This shot was a lucky one I took coming out of a lease just south of Macklin Saskatewan about 2 years ago.

I always say to my kids that "you have to have at least one shitty job in your life so that you can tell when you have a really good one"
I too remember what it was like in Ontario when they elected an NDP government for the first time. The impact it had in our field of work (manufacturing) was very negative indeed. I also recall seeing a huge spike in my provincial portion of my income tax return when I filed my tax paperwork in April for every year those bastards were in power.
Now you my friends in Alberta will get a taste of crappy government. Watch your income tax go up in the next 4 years. Watch businesses move to other provinces (and countries) with the anti-business taxes your NDP government will start imposing. Have fun!, and remember; you have to experience a shitty government to appreciate a good one!(or in your case, one less-shitty!! LOL )![]()
