Looks like no maiden today ... winds are picking up and expected 50km/h gusts by noon when I am free

And we're off to DR for 6 days starting tomorrow, so hopefully the weather will cooperate for a maiden on Friday April 10th! Perhaps a trip to Wingham (wink, wink Sandro)

And about your nice nose gear reinforcement, I would be afraid of breaking the fuselage in case of hard landing, instead of the original wood plate.

In case of "hard-anything", there is always something that breaks... such as your plastic arm on your steering servo !
And I also do prefer to break this plastic arm than a servo, whatever price it costs !

I expect to receive my avanti today or tomorrow, according to tracking number, and the electric gear, the VT pipe and dubro 3 liters tank later, but I don't know when !
I'm a 6 years old boy on christmas day !!!
I have about 50 flights on my Avanti with no extra reinforcement in the nose gear, and 90% of the flights are from grass. I don't see any reason to add anything to the nose gear as long as the provided plates are sufficiently glued in.

You do need to re-glue, or add additional support to the main gear plates as they can pull out easily.

Chad... I saw the RCU thread and this round of Avantis had some nice reinforcement under the plate on the main gear! But like you suggested, I still reinforced the area with CF and Hysol.

    Hi,

I would like to share a good joke: DHL has lost one of the 2 packages between 2 delivery stations !

I had to phone to all french telephones of DHL to have this information, as this is not written on their website.
They have been looking for the lost package since yesterday morning.... and they won't deliver the remaining package alone!

I think that it is written somewhere: somebody doesn't want me to fly the avanti!!!!

And it's really too bad as the weather forecast for this 3 days week end expects drizzle and wind, so no fly AND no build....

    Happy face.... but deeeeeeep inside!

Re: Sebart Avanti S - Twin Builds :)

    Hi,

I finally received my avanti package!! but I'm still waiting for the lado electric gear that is expected to be sent next wednesday... hopefully!
Anyway I'm very happy and I was surprised to discover something that I didn't see on any other Avanti S picture on the web.
I have some big air intake below the fuselage! I expected to make them by myself! Not needed anymore!
I would like to know if my normal air intake have the same size as yours ? because they are usually not easy to see on normal Avanti pictures on the web.
Finally I think that my insert is really light and I expect to use it.
Now I will have to find the requested time to build it!
    Good maiden!!!
