Google is your friend. Any video of Seba flying an Avanti s is his with the 250 in it. The key is light and nimble. Just like giant scale 3d build to fly not crash.

Hey Kevin - Google may be more your friend than mine, LOL. Can you help me out!... I can't find a video where it says he's running a 250. Even the promo video has it listed that he was running a JB180... perhaps it's a typo?

Until now I have used mainly electronic air valves, my favorite of which are the Jettronics units. However for this project, Sandro a I are using the UltraPrecision goodies.

The UP6 is supposed to be the cream of the crop for brake control. And many swear by the UP3 which is a retract and gear door sequencer all in one. Excited to see how they work.

I went with the JR high voltage micros since I haven't tried these either.. metal gear, HV and very low profile which works well with the UP valves

This AM I made up a couple little platforms.

Also included a shot of the valve instructions.. can even adjust the delay of the sequencing on the UP3.

Tonight I'll start the equipment layout Game plan is to put the smoke pump, fuel pump and Intarco UAT up near the nose wheel to help with CG.

Re: Sebart Avanti S - Twin Builds :)

I've been thinking alot about yesterday's comments about the Sebart Bubble tank.

I will echo what Chad said, that there are obviously many people using it with no issues, so I think it really comes down to personal preference. For me, I think it's a poor, poor design and will never endorse it for the following reasons...

    1) There is no media inside that bubble to protect against a bubble entering the tube - especially entrained air in the fuel. The bubble tank is simply that... a bubble tank and by no means a real UAT.

    2) I'd rather have an external UAT that I can position in the fuse to help with CG. If I'm going to carry 300mL of fuel at all times (stays full), best to use it to my advantage and offset adding more lead.

    3) When I cut ours open, the tube did not go to the center... Sandro's was closest to the center. Mine was about 1.5cm too long. Also, the tube is just slipped over the nipple... no wire tie or not even a ziptie. One can't see inside to inspect and it's not serviceable. The tube was also some floppy looking hybrid tygon. My point is it's a black box. May work good for some, maybe not for others. Will it be fine after a few years? Who knows.

    4) I don't buy the cost issue... would be mighty close to the same cost to buy your own fuel cells and a real UAT vs this all in one. With that option you'd also get much larger fittings for better fuel flow.

Anyways... to Chad's point, for the readership, I think it's important to see all sides and make the appropriate decision.

Good discussion guys. I always try and form my own opinions based on what seems logical and reasonable.
The RC world, like most human activities, is full of group think and cultural bias. My personal favorite was when I first got into GS and all the uproar over using a "Y" harness due to the 3 amp limit of a JR servo plug. Lol
    oh the humanity..lol
I was told I had to use a match box..lol..With that same plug with 2 servos on it.
    I digress...

Jason from Sebart USA now has this aircraft in his possession , Seba may have flown it at Florida jets when he was here. He gets approx 4 mins of flight time with his routine and flying style . He repeatedly tells us keep it light and it will be very nimble extra fuel cells will add unnecessary weight and decrease its performance and don't push the envelope speed use either.

Thanks!! Ya - I hear you on keeping it light. We've got that extra 50oz cell in the bottom to get more like 7-8min, but it really pains me to add that much weight especially if we feel comfortable doing the 3D stuff.

50oz is nearly 3 more pound of fuel on take-off Grrrrrrr.

I'll definitely be interested to see how the 3lbs affects things. Worst case we don't fill up the fuel cell.

Yes lots of overkill on servos and wiring in the hobby My Avanti has 7 digital servos all going through a single (yes one) 22G wire and servo plug. My pattern planes send 7 digi's through a single 26G wire and plugs.
