Aquarium pump for vacuum is a good idea but is very limited in volume and vacuum. The only other thing I would recommend is to use a good breather cloth. Only a one time expense as it is reusable.

Actually if you read a few pages in...(lol I know its a lot) They mention how that it will draw 2.5 bar which will apply about 190lbs per sqfoot. Thats pretty impressive and more than you really need. The volume comes from the reservoir ie.. the coffee can.
I have gathered up all the stuff in Richards list to make my own. Will be happening soon![]()

That looks cool, I hope it works for you. Before you start, make sure you have some extra rope caulk, tape, and/or putty on hand for any small leaks. (I found this out the hard way.)
What are you using for peel ply?

Yes Joe.. and that is why it has come to a halt. The rope caulk I got at homedepot is not the same as the guy mentions in his thread and it just doesn't stick all that well. Im have trouble finding the 3M type. Walmart says they will carry the Frog type.. but not in stock as of yet.

Pretty curious to hear how this goes and how big a parts you're able to hold vacuum on. Quite a bit more than $20... but this also seems like a pretty economical solution, just in case you're not already familiar with it http://www.acpsales.com/EZ-Vac-System.html

We have a LOWES here in Hamilton and I found the rope caulk. I agree, it is not sticky enough. This is what I use: http://www.compositescanada.com/prod...ealant-at-200y
Also, the peel ply they have works great: http://www.compositescanada.com/prod...-f-econostitch
I think these two components are worth a few extra dollars.
