    Skymaster 1/5 F104 Starfighter / Behotec220

Well... got my new bird for my winter project done in a one-off Canadian scheme

Hope to start it over the Christmas break.

Plan is to deck it out with all the bells and whistles. JB220, Futaba BLS172 servos in SBUS, PowerBox Cockpit SRS, PowerBox iGyro, PowerBox Smoke pump, R7008 Rx's with full telem.

Also have a full Unilight lighting package coming with their new afterburner ring.

This F104 has the Tams Stainless Steel nozzle, custom wing bags and a super sweet operational canopy that i'm told is the only one in Canada and they aren't producing them anymore because the guy at SM that did a few has since left.

    Here's what makes me giggle...
    ** length = 131"
    ** weight = ~53lbs
    ** wingspan = 53"... ROTFL.

    Re: Skymaster 1/5 F104 Starfighter / Behotec220

LOL!! Ya..Sure don't see many fly. Perhaps it has something to do with not having any wings on them . Gotta say... This thing scares the crap out of me.

Brad... Too funny about smoke. Thanks for keeping me focused on scale

Ya Scott.. A 220 is going in it at 50lbs of thrust. Most are flying with 40-45lbs of thrust so this should be quite a performer

I would love 45lbs also. Problem is I have no baseline so will just build it and see.

Personally, with a 53" span, I would love to see under 10lbs

    Re: Skymaster 1/5 F104 Starfighter / Behotec220

Typical Skymaster cylinders.... like every other SM, the cylinders leak air at the nipples, because there is no seat or seal... the threads are all that seals.

I will try to seal the nipples with Hysol however if that doesn't work I've found a really great UP cylinder replacement!! Perfect drop in replacement.
