    Re: BRAIN FART thread

In another thread there was mention of me having a dead stick, tearing off the l/gear etc. Well, I'll have to admit to a real brain fart, bone head moment....the engine quit 'cause I forgot to put gas in it after the previous flight!....where's the "hang your head in shame" smilie?

    Cheers (embarrassed)

    Dave.

    Re: BRAIN FART thread

We've been pretty well flying all winter except for a few rainy days. The runway and pit area grass has been cut. Supposed to be sunny and warm for at least another week.

    Cheers,
    Dave.

    Re: BRAIN FART thread

I generally work in the shop pretty late into the evening. Normally this is not an issue but the other night I was finishing up the electronics for the 40%ish Pitts/Moki 215 that I bashed from an existing Ultimate biplane. I needed to make a power supply lead with deans connectors on both ends. Here is what happens when you reverse the polarity on one end

I released the magic smoke but was able to disconnect the batteries before anything too nasty happened. I did completely fry one of my new JR Xbus converter harnesses though...

My other one for 2014.... got the jet fuel and smoke fluid fills mixed up. Couldn't figure out why the turbine wouldn't start.

Nasty job flushing that crap out
