When I started flying, I was stuck with landings. I ended up getting a sim, flew it for a winter, and got my wings 3rd flight of the spring.

Sim flying, and indoor flying seems to help with my spring time first flights.

... my landings improved. After I earned my wings I spent most of the rest of the season shooting touch'n'gos and practicing landings. I'm getting to the point where it takes me less and less time to start making good landings on a new plane (and better landings on the older ones).

Good stuff guys, yes landings are important. As explained to me early in my hobby career... they are the only mandatory maneuver. I actually spent one entire 20 minute flight yesterday shooting touch and goes with that old extra... in 0 wind conditions it looks like it's coming in WAY too hot, right up until it wants to fall out of the sky lol.

Agreed on the sim as well, my rolling harriers are still high altitude and ugly but never would have gotten as (not)good as they are without a lot of simulated destruction figuring out the "stir" patterns... same with rolling circles.

My flying got a lot better when I stopped crashing. It got a lot better with stick time and more reliable planes.

When I got my second airplane. I wasn't worried about crashing the first one. So I took more chances to improve my flying. I'm now on airplane 113 still trying to get better Also I learned that if you hang out with beginners you will look like a hot shot

Brodie you will have stopped crashing when you've touched a transmitter for the last time... same goes for all of us.

It was 3D aspirations that taught me there's more than just noise control on the left side of the transmitter... but speaking of IMAC, yesterday I yarded your Edge out for the first time this spring, it's another Lanier I'd have a very hard time giving up.

Wow, I'm glad to hear it is still out there. It was my first 40% plane and a good flier!
