Hey Trev, did you color sand and polish the klasskote? I've talked to Nate and he said you can sand/polish the color just like its clear coat... just wanted to hear your experience so I can use what you've learned on Thor.

Yep.. I've done that before. It comes out pretty glossy. Definitely would be the way I'd go if I was using Ultracote like you are with the Thor and you could then skip the clearcoat. But it still doesn't come out to that ultra-high-gloss wet look of Automotive Clear. Close, but not quite.
Also... KlassKote has a gloss Part B and a satin Part B. It is recommended to use the satin for Ultracote and gloss for Monokote. I would instead recommend you use the gloss Part B for Ultracote and then just polish it up to get it as exact as you need.

Ok, thanks. You're exactly correct... I've ordered the gloss part B and will polish it![]()

Came home a bit early and masked out the Yak55 canopy and the 40% CompARF Suhkoi!!
Ready for some metallic charcoal!!
Silouette was used for vinyl paint masks!!

That Cameo has really made this project easy!!!
If I did it again, I would get real paint mask vinyl vs normal vinyl... the normal stuff is a bit tougher to get off and left a bit of sticky residue on the silver. I will clean the sticky residue off once the metallic charcoal is cured
Regardless, super super happy with the result!
Just need to mask off and paint the checkers on the cowl and then clear![]()
