Okay. Thanks. A few screen shots will help. I'll see if I can link the post to the main page for easy reference then!

Really appreciate this. This is something many (me included) will play with for sure! A huge addition to this thread.

If any typos that may prove misleading, etc are found please point them out and I'll edit / correct the original post so things are as clear as possible.

    Re: Jeti Reference DataBase

Ok I'm stumped, I think my Futaba 18 was a lot easier to program.
I would like to put flaps on a 3 position switch, here is where it gets tough.
my take off flight condition is with the switch in the forward position, flaps should be at 20 degrees
my flying condition is with the three position switch in the middle, flaps are UP
the landing condition is with the switch in the back position, flaps are at 40 degrees.

    Any ideas?

    Chatham is coming up soon.

    Thanks

Well from the sound of things you have chosen rather unusual flap switch assignments which if you decide to land with half (take off flaps) and then change your mind and want to go to full flaps you will need to move the switch 2 positions and go through the no flap position. While I would suggest that all the way up equals no flaps, centered equals half or take off flaps and down equals full flaps would be a much more convenient arrangement, that doesn't really answer your question about how to get the exact switch setup you want so lets talk about that instead.

    1) Go into Model, Function Assignment menu, select the switch field for Flaps and clear it.

    2) In Fine tuning, Flight modes menu, create 3 flight modes, Normal, takeoff, landing. Assign your flap switch to select each flight mode in any order you want. Also, set a flight mode delay of about 1 - 2 seconds for each flight mode and use this to control your flap deployment rate rather then servo speed adjustments.

    3) In the Fine Tuning, Butterfly menu and change from G to S so that Butterfly is flight mode dependent. Select a flight mode and then select the switch field. Here you have a couple of options but since the the value of the switch selected in the switch field is used to SCALE the values for flaps, ailerons, etc, it's important that it always evaluates to 100% for what we are doing. To accomplish this you can simply select the desired switch position and play with it so you have a "check mark" in the switch field for each switch position. Alternately you can select the switch field, press F1, scroll the wheel counter clockwise which should select Log. MAX and press OK. This also evaluates to true / 100% so which ever you like best is fine. Just make sure the switch field in Butterfly will evaluate to true/100% for each flight mode selected.

    4) Select he Aileron/Flap adjustment menu and select your no flap flight mode. Adjust the flap value until your flaps are in the desired position. Repeat this step for each flight mode and adjust the flap value to give the appropriate flap deployment for each flight mode.

You can either use the Elevator compensation field to provide flap to elevator comp or I prefer to set the Elevator in the Digital trim menu to S so I can have separate elevator trim for each flight mode and simply use the elevator trim to adjust each flap position for the desired approach speed, etc. No mixes needed and it's adjusted in a single flight.

You're done, takes WAY less time to do this than it did to write it up, assuming I didn't forget something

    Re: Jeti Reference DataBase

I am stumped.......have been working on mixing my flaps to my elevator to compensate for a nose up situation when flaps deployed. Have tried using free mixes and not working out.
get half way to first flap setting and elevator drops... that's fine BUT when going to full flaps the elevator reverses back up to neutral when it should drop further. H E L P !
Right now I think I am more confused than when I started.....lol. Step by step would be a great help. Thanks

The other question : when I drop my flaps from cruise to takeoff setting the right flap doesn't drop quit as much; close but not close enough for my liking. The same with full flaps. I am using the 3 position SD switch for my flaps with separate servos plugged into channels 7 and 8. I can't seem to adjust the right flap for a little extra throw to match the left.

Many thanks. Screen shots really help.... The geometry setup is right on.
