Picture of my 1969 firebird , had it since I was 17 years old .looks all factory on the outside but I run a 409ci stroked fuel injected small block , all rollerized with long rods ,through a 5 speed manual tranny with scatter shield , 12 bolt posi 373 gears , 4 wheel disc brakes . no radio needed LOL. can just and so lift the wheels in second gear .

Hey Bill! Just got back from the Provost Annual Drag races. There was a Mustang like your wife's there, made a pretty impressive showing I must say!
Had one of those but it broke!

They are a ton of fun Merv. I had Laurie's wheels out yesterday as my Vette is in the shop getting the upgrades we spoke about. I should have it back Mon. or Tues. We can't go around the block in either of these cars without someone wanting to go us. I guess they haven't heard of the street racing law that is in place.

Isn't that the truth , I cant even make it through town without someone pulling up beside me calling me out , like really a sunfire with a hood scoop LOL or a Honda civic sitting on it's fenders . It might actually bug me if it was a serous challenge . sadly besides the odd track day there is not much point having cars like these anymore. I actually find it quite frustrating driving my 69 Firebird .

There are lots of good roads this way Roger well away from traffic, pedestrians etc. That's where I let em rip but only by myself and never against another driver. There is one guy here with go-pros mounted on a sleeper Charger, new style cruisin up and down a very busy 4 lane looking for any takers. I might run him off the road in my 3/4 ton Ram one of these days.

Yeah we have some nice roads here also, solo in a safe place is the only way. I have to be careful not to drive the car too much because it brings the hooligan out in me LOL.

Supercharger for me next year on the Vette Roger. Trying to talk Laurie into a Roush twin screw for the Mustang but she's a bit stingy when it comes to these things.

Re: The never ending Car / Truck picture thread

Events like the one we were at this weekend are a good outlet for those that are tempted to street race. All was done properly and safely. There was some seriously fast race dedicated cars there as well as cars off the street. The line up even included a Harley Davidson and a snowmobile! Good thing I didn't have the wife's mail delivery Forester there. I know for a fact that Gramma's rig would not have come in last!!
