The GSU shows "Failsafe" as the message for the last shut down. I am very suspect of that because I forgot to set up my fail safe and it was disabled in the receiver. So not sure what happend there. Murphy also made sure that my onboard log from the Xicoy flight computer did not work on this flight, so no log data to examine.

Slow down, don't do anything for a bit, a wing is only 400.00 and the other damage I see is reparable, I've got the same plane and it's been through more. Adding weight to repair is not an issue it can take it easily.

Oh man that sucks! I just bought this same plane yesterday from a hobby shop on consignment! And I have been looking at turbine options....and the Cheetah is one of them. Do you think you figured out what happened with the flameout?

Havn't figured it out yet, but I wouldn't worry. Jet central are among the best out there. I would hesitate to buy another. It's the smallest lightest most powerful turbine in its class. Great customer service, and very good quality turbine. After 2 F-15s I've decided to go another route, so I will have a large lot of spare parts for sale soon if your interested.

I know the feeling, I crashed a friend of mines MB339.........I felt awful! He still encouraged me to continue on. So don't give up! Just have to find the root cause of the shutdown then stick it in another jet

Like a mannequin... LOL... That's good... he kind of does though donesn't he... LOL...

Thanks for the praise on my build. It was my first Jet build, and I learnt a lot from this forum and few key guys on here have been very helpful.... That's you Trevor.... I tried my best to keep it as tidy as possible as I firmly believe it's not just for looks. When you go to look for problems they are easier to find, and fix.

Re: Oldie but a goodie - Skymaster F-15 build

Well some good news, the Turbine seems to be fine, must have been a lose connection. I spoke with Doug yesterday about the flame out and we went though several scenarios and after some testing today on a test stand it looks like he was right. One thing that I didn't think about was after my hard landing on the maiden I ddin't check the main harness that plugs into the Turbine. On the Cheetah this plugs in at the bottom of the turbine, so any kind of force will slowly wiggle that connection out.

Lesson learnt.... And for those that didn't know that as well, please don't just check the obvious stuff after a hard landing, check EVERYTHING!! Especially any electrical connections.

So now at least if I decided to sell it, or put it into another airframe I will not lose sleep over it.

Myzee, you still looking for a turbine for your F-15?

If it's ok, Id like to ask you a question about your F-15.
Elevator servos---I see there are holes in the wood inside the elevator access area. Are these blind nuts to mount the servos?
I have absolutely no instructions with mine and can't find a manual so I hope you don't mind me asking some questions!
