F-18s scramble to intercept drone over Ottawa airport

Just last month a British airway passenger jet hit a drone...now we're scrambling fighter jets over the capital!!!!! This shit has to end soon.

I'm pretty sure the BA jet hit a plastic bag. The airplane continued on after it was checked over.
Seems a bit over kill to send CF-18's to intercept a toy, when it was near the airport, not the capital. It was very high though.

We're you on the BA flight when it got hit? Didn't think so. I'm going to stick with the professional witnesses opinion...you know..the actual pilot and co pilot, and they said it was a drone.

As far as Ottawa..are you forgetting that people were attacked and kill on parliament hill just last year, and now there are drones flying around just a few kilometers from there!!!! I'm sure it was just another fpv idiot.. but how long will it be before the government gets tired of scrambling jets to intercept toys. The fpv ban will be coming soon

Your response is the typical "redirect"(anyone who says its a drones fault, must be as bad as the rouge pilot LOL) No matter how obvious the drone sighting is??...Deny Deny Deny. What ever you do dont admit that its an FPV that has scrambled F-18s over Ottawa.

I read the artical posted in the link... Once again! Someone that was NOT aboard the plane gives their professional opinion on what the Pilot saw. WOW!!!

God forgive me Don if Im sick and tired of seeing how all these FPV guys are destroying what was once a fun and enjoyable hobby in the eyes of the public and TC. But now since the invent of FPV just 8 short years ago... There are Thousands of reports a year!!! And NO they are not all blown out of proportion.. that is simply YOUR opinion. I also love it when people say that Fixed wing aircraft are at fault too.. HA! You mean fixed wing Drones(Camera attached with live feed) Anything with a camera sending back signals to the ground pilot is a DRONE! But what does Transport Canada care about the distinction?? Its much easier for them to throw us all into the same pot and call us DRONES! So finally when our Gov gets enough flack from the puplic about the cost of sending up Fighter Jets to inspect toys flying around, and the decide to BAN drones! Do you think they are going to just ban the Camera drones that they care NOT to distinguish? NO! they will ban ALL OF US with one fell sweep.
