    Elevator for Byron Pitts

    My Location: Mississauga
New or Used: See Description Below
    Manufacture: Byron
    Asking Price: $1.00

Hey guys, I picked up a NIB Byron Pitts that after giving it an inventory is missing the elevators. Easy enough to fab up out of balsa but, I thought I'd see if anyone had a set of the original foam ones or maybe a crashed Pitts that the elevators managed to survive.

    Thanks

    Mike

    Mike,
Search ironbay models. Byron models are still made by them. Some parts are not available but can be if ordered.

    Thanks Dave,

I got a hold of Alberta's littlest airport through Facebook. They said they think they may be able to help me out but, would confirm on Saturday, once they have a chance to check.

Congrats on the Byron Pitts Mike! I'm sure it will look awesome when finished. Didn't you have one years ago?

Damn Dave, you have a great memory! I sold it in a weak moment about 10 years ago and have kicked myself ever since!

haha...my wife tells me that I have a "selective" memory and "selective" something else but I honestly wasn't listening. Anyway, who could forget a Pitts!!! Still one of the most visually appealing airplanes in my opinion.

    Have fun with the build!

    Re: Elevator for Byron Pitts

Unfortunately, the guys at Alberta's Littlest Airport didn't have any elevators, they had a couple of rudders on hand. So, still looking

    Thanks

    Re: Elevator for Byron Pitts

I had a byron pitts , if I remember correctly the rudder was not much different than the elevators .you may be able to sand the rudders to work as elevator halves. get them to measure them up to see if they are long enough ,you would have to make the plywood parts to support the struts but that would be easy enough. just a thought
