Got the rest of the wings & control surfaces done yesterday, now the fuselage is next, but scares the crap out of me as the expert Terry did the last one.

"Project PINK"
Sweet....You do mighty fine work Pete!!![]()
Anyone have experience with the 104" EF Extra 300?
Peter, Project pink 2.0 will be great. The whole idea of your pink plane at fun fly's gives purpose to these meets. I didn't fly Miss pink last year out of fear of being the Dbag that busted it up. Now that you are an expert rebuilder I will give her a go next year. LOL. Thanks again from the rest of us.

Terry the removal of the covering like the white & blue are easy, it was the yellow that was troublesome, left residue behind. This I ironed on scraps to the residue which then came off easy. The only area I am concerned with on the fuselage is the bottom were the landing gear mounts as the angle changes before the motor box.
Jeff the idea for covering / decaling V2 PINK is if something catastrophic were to happen, I can have another in the air within 2 hours & not skip a beat. By the way I still have a V3 NIB, I’m sure it won’t come to that.

Pete, on Pink/1 I tried to stretch the covering over the angle with limited success as I recall. If I was to do it again I would just tack down the flat bottom section then split the covering at the angle. Tack down the rear section then the front section letting the split overlap the rear section and just live with the seam. The seam will be on the lower half of the fuse and probably invisible if you don't know it's there.
Maybe one of the real experts on here will chime in and we will both learn something new - you listening Trevor???![]()

Nice Pete. Awesome concept of the pink plane.
Not an expert by any means, but I would iron down the flat bottom and then increase the iron temp to 385-400F and use it as a shrinking tool (and pull like an SOB) to stretch the covering around the curve to the fuse sides and cut the covering just as the sides go vertical. I would then iron on the vertical sides with a small 1/8"-1/16" overlap onto the bottom piece.
I never use a heat gun.. To uncontrolled. I like a crazy hot iron to shrink/stretch. If you pull as you apply heat you should be able to stretch Monokote at least 30% more. Once it starts to stretch with heat it becomes easy to pull like bubblegum, LOL
