I saw a post on FB this morning and emailed him to check. This is what he had to say:
Too many issues & I am soo tired of making rings & can't keep up anymore. It needs to be 2 people younger making rings & part time book keeper to keep up. It is just me & wife & both getting older, I will be 70 5-1-16, time to quit. Take Care & thanks for your business. Frank
Frank, thanks for all you've done. For me in particular, but mostly for this hobby. Enjoy retirement. You've certainly earned it.
Take care and God Bless.

Total bummer...great and cheap upgrade for the Chinese engines.
However, Frank was great to deal with in my limited experience and I'm glad to hear he'll be taking sometime for himself!

Are his rings that much in demand? Just asking as maybe someone could take over his business from him? Not sure what is involved of course, pure speculation on my part considering I don't fly any gas planes....

He was making the rings for old cars, tractors, anything that took a ring he would make for it. You could even just send him a cylinder and he would make a ring for it. Talented man.
