U.S. FAA will require a pilots license to fly a drone.

U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will require Americans to have a pilots license to fly a drone.

Does not affect us, but isn't it crazy that the FAA wants to regulate toys? I wonder if they will let drone flight time count towards an airline pilots license.

I laugh at the stupidity of the FAA.

Thank goodness Transport Canada has got it right. At least they are forward thinking. USA is still in the stone age.

Apparently you need a licence if it's over a certain size and weight. I know my DJI 450 is well under size.

Its decent to see some relaxation in regulation of this space however awful thing is that integration of unmanned flying interests into National airspace won't happen by the pre determined in 2015. still hopes for more and great to see some working expectations around there for that issue.

    Yes.

The FAA has definitely dropped the ball on this one.

I think the key word is "Commercial" drones, I take that as a commercial business operating drones for profit only...
