PACKED FOR JOE NALL
I'm 95% ready to go.
I'm leaving about 4:00 am Tuesday stopping overnight somewhere in West Virginia, and then on to Columbia SC for a Wednesday evening with an old work friend. The total trip is just over 1700KM.
I'll be up bright and early to drive the remaining 90Km to Woodruff to pick up my food and lots of ice. I want to be in line by mid morning Thursday so I'll have a good campsite along with the other Canadians that camp out overlooking the Float Pond.
This year I am taking my 38% Carf Sukhoi with a ZDZ 210, a Carf-Horizon Hobby Yak 54 with a GP 123 and a Carf Extra 330Sc with a Valach 120 4 Stroke. All of these planes now have GYRO's in them, so I'm anxious to see how they perform.
For the first time I am also bringing along a small mini bike to be able to visit all the flying sites.
This is the second year that I have used this great item; I put a BACK UP CAMERA at the back of my trailer and the video comes right to my dashboard. It's great to see if someone is close behind you on the road in case you want to make a lane change and it helps for backing up into tight spots.
I sleep inside my Expedition and use my camping gear to cook breakfasts. I also have learned to bring LARGE coolers because you need lots of ice to keep the beer cold!
It will be great to meet up with old friends from last year. NOTHING beats sitting outside in the evening overlooking the big pond and watching all of the electric night flyers. The shimmering colours reflecting off of the water are just spectacular after a great day flying.
See you next year Trevor!!

Why not come on your own. You will me a thousand friends!
The first year I went and didn't know a soul, but within a day had met more friends than I could see in an evening. I still hook up with six guys that I met the first year. I was so enthralled by the atmosphere I didn't even bother flying.
One word of caution, the first year I called my wife from there and said "This is the best vacation that I have ever been on";- she wasn't too pleased so phrase your comments carefully!
