Will a wood 24x10 rip on the ground at 7300 rpm?

    Hi Rick

I don't think you will hear a prop rip on the ground , only in the air flying . Mine rips in the air at WOT ( 6900 - 7000 RPM ) with a 25/8W Falcon Carbon Prop . You will know what it sounds like when you hear it

86 db from both left and right. 88 behind. Could not check in front, field was busy.

Thanks Rick! Very similar numbers to what mine was on 2-into-1 header and MTW 110 canister.

I know the db numbers don't lie but everyone at the club as well as myself do find it quieter than other 50,60,70cc motors. It must be the tone of the exhaust.

I do believe that it rips at times just not badly. I can make it at full throttle so I can hear the prop biting. You tube vid's that I have watched don't do prop ripping justice so I can not get the full sound of it.

I live a sheltered life for never hearing prop rip in person!! I did try to make it to huckfest this year, maybe I would have heard it there! (My wife has been very ill for the last five months, so did not make it to any events that I wanted to go to this year.)

Ray, the DA 70 has been a perfect motor for me. Runs like a bull!! When a guy gets 600 more rpm with exactly the same prop I had on a EME 60 you know we have a winner!! (and I really believe is has more rpm in it!!)

(ya Jack, I'm still watching the telemetry to much. Should work on it with only the tach.)

You can't go wrong with the DA-70's Rick , one heck of a motor , also the service that stands behind them with DA
