Ya.. the Emcotec and APS put a bit of pressure on the carb but they have that recycle loop.
This TonyClark pump has flexible vanes that apply the same pressure to the carb but allows the pump to cavitate so no return loop needed

Funny Trevor when I talked to Gerhard I sent him information for the very same pump , you can purchase them direct from MICRO PUMPS in England ,He gave me a long story about how he tried the pumps and they would not supply enough pressure .That is the same pump I purchased for my Spitfire with the Valach inline twin ..
Finally had time to get my 250 going , what a sweet engine . On the first start it went on the second flip , after that first flip every time .

Checked out the Micro Pump website but couldn't find the TC pump.....do you happen to have a number for their pump that matches the TC pump?

I purchased the m200 6v version 2 years ago ,The valach 120 inline has a working pump in the carb and does not call for a external pump but I wanted a small pump as backup because the pump pressure tube can clog on four cycles. You may want a bigger pump for the radial engines that rely on a stand alone pumps . Just make sure you get the correct voltage and also one that has the correct seals for the fuel you are using . I am a little confused because I thought the Micro pumps were a far better system but Gerhard told me they would not work on a radial and his other engines don't need one ?? now I see him selling them . as far as I am concerned all engines could benefit from a small pump . The micro pumps draw so little that I am going to splice it into the ignition power so when you activate the ignition you also get the fuel pump the Ibec also has a 6v voltage regulator that will protect the pump ...

Was finally able to maiden the Stearman today , what a joy to fly , the Valach 250 R starts first flip hot or cold , took next to no trim , balance was perfect . Field assembly only takes 10 min .
