Okay, I took it out flying today.
First, I did a "fingertip" balance test fore/aft. I found I could easily shift the battery back about 3/4" to make up for the extra weight of the Mobius camera camera on the front.
Here, you can see that the battery is no longer sitting in the center of the quad:
This week is the first time I have ever flown the quad outdoors. Its a blast. The video from the camera looks great too! Here is a still from the video as a train was passing by. So much fun tear-assing around at low level![]()

I asked on a Multi rotor website whether Mobius would be good for FPV and I was told the lag that the Mobius has makes it difficult to use as an FPV camera. I was thinking on getting rid of the Fat shark camera and using the Mobius instead but it looks like I'll just have to wait for FPV to improve before I make any changes.

Really? I bought the Mobius as a recording and FPV camera for my FPV Warbird project. It was recommended by BCsaltchucker. If Im not mistaken, he has used them in his own FPV projects. I dont recall him mentioning any lag being the issue. I guess I will find out myself when I go to set it up for FPV

Let me know Max because if it works better than a Fat shark camera then that would for sure be the route I'll go. How is the Mobius for battery drain?

So far I have only been using it as a stand alone recorder. Recorded 6 5 minute flights = 30 minutes + add a few minutes starting the recording before the flight and after the flight, I would guess 45+ minutes "recording" so far, if not more. Haven't charged it yet. How does one check the battery level on this thing?![]()

I see it carries it's own battery I didn't know that, my Fat Shark works off the Quads batteries that's why I asked that question. I guess you will know the batteries are dead when it stops recording, do you know what types of batteries it uses?

Don't know. i haven't opened it yet. But I will have to soon because I also bought the camera extension for it as recommended by BCSalt.
While on the subject, I met and flew with a bunch of guys at the local field here and one of them does use the Mobius for FPV and recording- I asked him about the lag- he says he hasn't noticed it. He's flying a Bixler with it.

So maybe the info I got was wrong, what is he using for a transmitter and goggles?

Hes also on 5.8 and is using a 7" screen with a sun-sheild
I also recalled in our conversation today that he strongly recommeded I install the latest Mobius firmware update. Maybe that has something to do with lag (or less lag?)

Could be, I asked B.C. saltchucker about the Mobius hopefully I'll have a reply by now.
