It was on the floor of my garage. Now if upgraded to the work bench. Going in my 104” slick probably. Unless I upgrade airframes

    My laser has the following issues;
Cowl and/or motor mount template way off

Surfaces hinged very poorly. BTW, taping them at full deflection after scalping out a crap load of glue has relaxed them for almost a smooth feel, still not perfect

Hardware- all garbage, ball links are oxidized and crazy stiff, thrown away, the 4-40 bolts and nuts are clearly a bad chinese knock off, hold them side by side with Dubro and the threads look funky, won't trust those on a 35%er(no they are not metric). the landing gear bolts were SAE and the nuts supplied were metric, weird. Had my own nuts to use hehe i said nuts
Blind nuts in one wing are rough as hell, gotta find a 6mm tap to clean them up and new bolts since the 2 in that wing are fooked. or I'll replace them

Other than all that it's great.... graphics are all on now!
    Hi Dean,
I hope you like it as much I like mine, it tracks nicely and it flies great, rolls awesome and snaps like there is no tomorrow! I had very similar hardware issues but thankfully everything lined up properly in mine.
    Cheers,

    Will

Thats good to hear Will, you can fly mine and help me set it up!! Well I've put alot of time into the control surfaces, there is just one ail that is giving me greif, right at about 35 degrees is start to stiffen up...When I set up the dual servos I'll watch the amps to see if it affects that or not.
Just got the last of parts today so on the home stretch and then just waiting for spring to happen I guess.

I am looking forward to getting her up

Trevor and any other Power Box junkies, I have a thread in the electronics area for the Mercury SRS but I hope we can all use it for any questions, learning, sharing holding hands whatever....I've just gotten mine today from Thunderbolt so diving in!

    Hi Dean,
Not sure if this helps but I am using the middle hole on the control horn closest to the wing root (servo 1) and the the top hole on servo 2 (control horn closest to the wing tip). It has the best geometry throughout the entire travel.

    Cheers,

    Will

That helps a lot, I was wondering about that, thank you. Couldn't find mention of itin the manual or forum, the EF planes have different sized control horns andd that I guess accomplish this same effect.
What did you end up for throws on your ail?

    Hi Dean,
On full deflection for 3D I am around 47 degrees. As you know it has huge ailerons
I am using around 38 degrees for snaps.
    3-5% aileron differential.

For knife edge 2% rudder to ailerons (left rudder) and about 1% the other way.
4% down throttle to down elevator (for down lines)

    Cheers,

    Will

Thanks Will! What you running your CG at?

Unfortunately I'll get nowhere near 47 degrees on the ailerons as my surfaces were glued too tight, hopefully 37-38 will be enough, its enough on my EF slick but every plane seems a bit different...
