How have they done this, shorten up the nose?

Not sure. Perhaps just wing tube placement.
I will pull out a 126” and 124” set of Carden drawings and compare to this one

No, Carden is still going strong but only offering their PRO series kits now I think - http://carden-aircraft.com. The Kam-Aero is a completely seperate entity and not related to Carden.
The Kam-Aero is also designed for scale aerobatic (IMAC) style flying with some new features and design ideas. I had a Carden PRO for a few seasons and lost it to a mid air collision during an IMAC contest in June 2017. I'm really looking forward to getting this model in the air to see myself how it compares. I think it will be very good.

Decided to start on the stabs / elevators. A few pics to show the differences from a Carden.
Patching and sanding to 600 grit and then glue in hinges.. a couple evenings before Monokote fumes still.

Hey Paul. Beauty airplane. Always enjoyed your choice in airframes.
Question in Imac how close to scale do aircraft need to be?

The Kam-Aero looks about 15% smaller than the Carden. Is the Kam Aero more of a fragile plane, built lighter? I found the Cardens were over built compared to newer designs.

I don’t think the KamAero is any smaller than the Carden. In fact the Carden Pro seems to have thinner flying surfaces. Without measuring and just looking at it I’d put the KamAero between the 124” Pro Carden and the 126” Carden in terms of proportions and girth
Definitely not fragile. Built strong like a Carden or Dalton or JTec. Plywood mbox, built up fuse, lots of balsa sheeted foam.

We measured the Dalton 300ML today, it was 119" long and I forget how wide, hahaha
it may have been 126 but it may have been 124. Paul may remember?
