Everyone is not dumping their DS16 only those of us that bought the new DS24or DC24 like Eric.

The DS16 is an excellent radio, uses a 1600 mAh 1s Lipo that the radio sips from.

The DC16 is FAR from Obsolete,

Futaba doesn't even come close to the programmability of even the DS/DC-16. The 24 series is just an added function radio in which it has added a colour screen , stick shakers, and the 900 MHz RF output making that a total of 3 RF outputs. No it doesn't have the touch screen and I stand corrected but believe
that they had considered it; but opted out.
