Anyone know what the smallest Dia pipe can be used with a Merlin 100 xbl... I contacted jetsmunt but there on holiday till the 21st

I would contact Tam's to find out. He designs oversize pipes for jets based on turbine size.

Well.. Gaspar being as awesome as he is has once again replied to my email while on vacation. Lol. If anyone is interested, he say 68mm is the min size for the Merlin

The Starfire I picked up from Peter had a 100 in it. I can measure the pipe tonight, it looks fairly small.

Well grumania said they wouldn't make me a pipe cause it was to small, so I double checked with Gaspar. Here's what he said....
Well, I’m using a 85mm on a 160N.
Pipe diameter depends a lot of the plane, a fast plane with small intakes, like the BVM Bandit need small pipe, while a slow plane with big intakes would need bigger pipe, both with same engine.
68 is the minimum, as you asked. Ideal would be around 75mm. But 89mm looks too much to me. Probably the problem is that grumania don’t have a intermediate size.
So I think I'll get Tam to make me a pipe

I measured the inlet: 62mm
Exit was larger at 69mm but could have just been me.
