Great looking machine Trevor! Hope you enjoy it! I'll keep an eye out for your flying impressions of her. Huckfest didn't disappoint this year but we sure missed you.
I got a set of those headers and some cans for my Slick, and I'm wondering, after you fit them and remove them from the plane, do they hold their alignment as you heat them for brazing or do you have to clamp them to keep the segments in place?
I trust you are enjoying Calgary, my brother in law moved out there more than twenty years ago and never looked back, the nephews met western girls and are raising families now. We love visiting Calgary but with my oldest living in Whistler, that's where our more recent trips have taken us. Something magnetic about the Rockies! Happy Holidays to you and your family, Bill

Hey Bill!! Ya we miss all the friends back in Ontario but sure is beautiful out here and we can’t get enough of the mountains. Let me know the next time you are out here!! I’ll be back for next Huckfest for sure!!
As for the headers, yes… they hold their position really well and don’t move as you heat up / silver solder the knuckles!!

Sweet Trevor! I've basically got everything here now to start on mine, still need a prop/spinner and waiting for some Jeti stuff to show up in the mail.
I'm gonna put my rudder servo in the tail so I was thinking I would order a tru turn compensate the balance and maybe my batts gotta go by the tank?!?!
Also was thinking 5" spinner instead of 5.5" to allow a little more past, any thoughts on that?

Awesome Dean!!!
Good call on the spinner - I think 5” would be better. There is a spot for the rudder in the tail on push/pull. You will definitely need a heavier tru-turn spinner and I’m guessing batts up forward of tank on the tank tray should work out perfectly.
Please post pics once you get into it !

Been following that Kris Barton at Full Throttle Rc and they are building all of their Mamba's push/pull with still using the falcon spinner on most. I've seen a few with tru-turns on them and the batts are are right beside the tank so I figure I'll be set. I actually have a lightened 5" back plate already so if the solid one is too much nose weight I could swap it out. I'm hoping to start the build over the holidays. I've got another project on the table that I am having trouble finishing, lack of motivation.....
