Pegase Composites Akuma

Peter W and I got a pair of these Pegase Composites Akuma planes.

I am building mine first and then will likely build Peter’s once I figure all of this out and test fly mine!

We got these through Chad Northeast. Chad has a really cool build series on YouTube that I am using. They are a ton of work and aren’t really much different than building a Carden.

Excited about getting back to wood and Monokote!!

Here are a few pictures of the fuse build. Chad goes into all the detail on his build videos so I won’t bore anyone repeating it.

A summary…
1) aft bulkhead install in fuse shell
2) stab tube phenolic install
3) stab anti rotation pin
4) wing tube phenolic install

Tons of work here. Probably have a good 10-15hr of build time into these details. Tons of alignment, measuring, laser level work.

Got the rear rudder post fab’d, glued in with Hysol and bevelled. I also lightened it to save about 12grams

I got the fuse painted! Automotive base / clear! Turned out really well. I did 1 coat of clear to keep it as light as possible!

So the Akuma kit comes with CF landing gear but I decided to order the new Falcon CF gear and Falcon CF wheel pants from F3AUnlimited. Axles and wheels are from Morris Hobbies

The bulkhead for the gear assembled well and only required minor shaping. All glued in with Hysol of course
