Finally got her Maidened this past weekend in Sudbury. Some how I missed Huckfest! Doooooohhhhhhh
I had to add about 4oz of lead right at the front of the engine box to get her to balance with having used 2 x Elevator Servos in the tail. Maybe if I had used A123 Battery instead of Lipo she would have balanced.
Had some severe nose pitch down on rudder only turns so had to mix in some Up Elevator with Rudder. The Elevators appear to be a little warped. When you line up the counterbalances of the elevator to the stab the trailing edges of the two elevators are way out. One is up more then the other so I adjusted them so the trailing edges matched.
Flew Rock Solid after trimming. The DA 35 was sitting for close to 2 years so initial start took a bit as the diaphragm in the carb was so dry but once started a couple of times she will usually fires on choke after one or two flips and Purrs like a Kitten.
Nice low idle and plenty of power the plane didn't even feel the 4 oz of lead.
The underside wing scheme goes pretty much black, at distance even in the bright sun. Even the big Kawasaki Green star on the bottom goes black might have to add some fluorescent orange tips on the bottom of the wing.
Haven't weighed it yet.
Thanks Lee for doing the Maiden.
Overall very Happy!
