    R.I.P. Doug Bartley.

A few of you might remember my friend Doug. Doug has been my flying partner for about ten years, he came to a couple events with me. He always rode his Harley with his homemade plane trailer.

Doug passed away yesterday morning after a two year battle with cancer.

I arranged to have his last airplane build a 8 foot Dash 8 to be hung up and put on permanent display at the local full scale airport. The Saugeen airport.

I already miss having him at the field with me.

Sad news, I remember the man and it's great that the two of you met to hang out together.
    My condolences to all.

    Re: R.I.P. Doug Bartley.

My condolences Rick, I'm very sorry for your loss. I do remember meeting Doug a couple of times and enjoyed seeing his trailer and tow vehicle. I've never tried a trailer with my Harley but what a great way to enjoy two hobbies at once.

I'm attending a celebration of life tomorrow for a fellow I've flown with for about 10 years. Tool many of these events lately, hoping we don't have more for a long time.

    Rick,
My condolences as well. Met Doug several times and always made me laugh. He was a great guy and a talented builder. Another loss for the modelling community.

    Re: R.I.P. Doug Bartley.

    Thank you.

Doug was an amazing man, he talked, he talked a lot! But he knew his stuff.

His daughter flew in on the Saturday before, she left to fly back home at 3 pm Wednesday, by 5 pm Doug was unresponsive. He held on long enough to say goodbye to his daughter.

Got the Dash 8 hung up at the Airport. Doug would be happy.
