So it begins, my first attempt at a build thread!
After a very windy road trip down & back from Calgary we picked up our Radiowave 2.8m MX2 Competition Series Builders Kits from a border storage facility in Sweetgrass Montana on Saturday and got everything unpacked that afternoon. We being my pal Gordon (Trumpetman on RCCanada) as he also ordered one and we were both pretty impressed with the kit and how it was packed up. Kevin at Jtec made a considerable effort to combine everything to reduce shipping costs and did a good job on packing these up as everything was in good condition, a couple foam pieces were slightly scuffed on an end but of no big concern. All the wooden parts were separated and taped up with "#1 or #2" clearly marked on them for each kit so splitting everything out went pretty quick.
The laser cutting looks excellent and the overall quality of the plywood & balsa is impressive! The cowl comes as 2 piece which I hadn't thought to check and is a welcome sight, it already has plywood backing plates glues in!! The fiberglass on it & the wheel pants looks great and the canopy is quite sturdy and super clear.
I should be putting glue to wood in a few days and will post as I go, Gordon will be steps ahead of me and has already given some valuable tips ( I will be relying on him for help, anyone who has seen his work knows I will be getting good advice!!) He may chime in on this with thread his progress and thoughts as well.
The first picture below shows the fuselage formers and the second shot is all the wood & fiberglass parts.
