    I was just wondering what the header drop should be when using the MTW two into one headers. 70 or 90 mm?

    Hey guys, I'm waiting for mine to arrive, it seems with all the delays at the ports and the lack of workers there might be a chance to get mine late Nov. Its been a long wait but after reading and looking at you pictures/comments, it will be worth the wait. I am also installing a DA 200L in mine. Your pictures and procedure for the firewall was most helpful. I ask CARF to make this modification at their factory and they agreed but it would not be in their next shipment and I wouldn't get the plane until the spring of 2022. So I told them I would take it as you did and shorten the firewall myself. I agree with you, it would seem they would do this modification and put in the proper pitch at the factory. Especially when you sell out almost 4K for a airframe! LOL.. One question, what is the proper header drop when using the two into one MTW headers?

    I am also waiting on mine, hopefully next month (ordered custom color scheme in June but I am not placing any bets on receiving it then.

    I ask about header drop, they checked and said 90mm

    Thank you, that's what I was told by CARF USA but they were not sure, so now I know for sure. I certainly hope you get yours in the next shipment, hopefully yours and mine are together.

    Wow... sorry for the delay in me responding. For whatever reason, I did not get notified of new posts here. Apologies.

    Yes... 90mm drop worked out perfectly!!

    Bummer about the wait but hopefully you will get yours soon. It is a shame about the firewall but maybe they will make this change going forward.

    Thanks for the info on the header drop. I would like to ask a few questions please. First, with the 2.5 degree pitch for the firewall, how did you get such a great space between the back plate and cowl, usually one side is a bit bigger than the other side due to the pitch of the engine. Was the cowl made to accomadate this pitch? And lastly, was there a servo mount built in for the throttle servo or did you have to engineer a mount and that leads to the area where you mounted your power management system (I use Jeti and Central Box) and ignition and main battries. Sorry for all the questions but you are the only real source for this build. Thanks again.

    Good questions.

    For the throttle servo… Yes.. I had to design a mount for the servo inside the fuse. I just used cardboard and tape until I was happy with the design and then cut it out from 1/8” light ply

    For the spinner gap… the cowl has an approx 2.5deg offset moulded into it. Once I had the new angled firewall done, I stood the fuselage up vertical and positioned the DA200 on the firewall and installed the cowl and moved the DA200 around until the gap was perfect.     That is good news that the cowl has the offset. I thought you did the mount for the throttle but was not sure. Approximately how many mm or inches did you have to cut off the factory firewall dome?

    I totally forgot to measure but post 5 and 6 will give you some good visuals to go by once you have yours in front of you
