I did it again! New radio, installed the reciever in a plane and checked out control throws - throttle good, elevator and rudder backwards - ok, fixed that. Now, out to the field to try it out - turned it all on - huh? No response, must have lost the bind? Took it all back home and rebound it. Checked the motor and elevator throw directions - still ok so the programming stayed right? Out on the front lawn this time and throttle up - off she comes - a bit of wind drift - right correction - hard left response - shmack!! Rudder backwards! Oh MAN!!!
Had one of those but it broke!

Here is another non R/C but defiantly a prolonged well thought out Fart.
Many years ago when I was Young and Bold I came across an older neighborhood gentleman on an uphill side road just a short way up off the main road I was driving on. It was late January well into our BC Interior snow season and He had attempted to drive up the side road a short distance and take His Dog out for some fun. Unfortunately He lost traction and slid backwards and off the road becoming STUCK. Me in My Macho Jacked Up Bronco decided to help the old fellow and His Dog back onto the road. I backed up the hill to just above Him and got out the tow strap, hooked onto the front of His frame and the tow hooks on Bronco, Told Him to put His Mercedes in neutral get His Dog out and stand clear while I pulled the car "UP" and out onto the "UPHILL" road. I then got Him and His Dog to get back in the car steer while I snubbed Him the short distance back down to the main road. End of story, refusal on My part for any gratuities or reward just a handshake and a neighborly know.
Now the good part. the very next winter old fellow now has a BIG Ford Duelly and is heading UP the hill to the development He resides in and comes across a neighbor lady of His who due to driving ability and conditions has nosed Her half ton off the road on Her way "UP" the hill towards home. Being the good Samaritan He is He pulls up behind Her and offers to pull her vehicle back onto the road. I can only assume He remembered the procedure I used when rescuing Him because He told the Gal to put Her truck in neutral and stand aside out of harms way as He hooked up and proceeded to pull Her vehicle back DOWN onto the road and..........

Ok, I have been holding out on this one. Probably my dumbest brain fart EVER! Fession time!
Not likely many of you remember the days when you used a hand crank to start a vehicle... well I still have one of those that I use to saw fire wood. #1 rule: it MUST be out of gear BEFORE starting is tried!
I bet you didn't think I was still that quick on my feet eh?
