I found that the rod can leave an indentation on the fusenside and if left alone, would probably puncture the monokote and move into the thin balsa sheeting and foam in the fuse.

I cut a thin piece of Delrin rod and double sided taped it to the fuse at the rod location.

Like Trevor said, the other side has the hard ply of the side force generators to keep it there. So it isn’t moving there.

No matter if you use any of these ideas, if the rods inside the aileron do not almost completely fill the gap between root and tip, they will work themselves out of those root and tip supports/hangers and create flutter.

Where do you guys have the CG of your Vertigos?
Middle of the wingtube?

Mine, is just behind of the middle of the wingtube, and it s ok.

Mine is at the TE of the wing tube - completely neutral inverted or right side up on level flight.

Well that seems like a built-in failure. WTF?

I extended the rods so that they exactly fit the gap. Furthermore I glued a screw in the rod to the tip side which I can screw into a nut which is integrated in the tip.
So the rod is fixed and can not move out at all ...

I am nearing completion of a second vertigo for a friend.
Must build wings, with mods.....
