The rear tanks need to go in before the swingarm setup is reinstalled so got the fittings Hysol’d and plumbed up.
For anyone that hasn’t tried the Digitech fuel clunks, give them a try!! Sold at AeroPanda. They have a really unique white material that wicks fuel without allowing air. You can drain a tank completely dry without sucking air. Pretty cool!
XXL Tygon tubing inside, Festo 6mm tubing outside and Skymaster tank fittings

So Eric really wanted a functioning tail hook! After a we batted around a bunch of ideas, we ended up deciding on servo actuated. JR398 is lots powerful!
Got the hatch cut out and bodywork done and repainted last night!

Here’s a quick video.
Servo is buzzing a bit because I am running on HV. I have a little inline regulator coming to drop voltage to 6.2V

So I removed the nose gear so that I could Hysol the air nipples and install Festo tubing. Also a great time to install steering servo and get the spot light installed!!
Eric wanted me to try to incorporate the 3D printed stuff into the spotlight. So here goes....

I removed the 3D printed parts and got the dremel going to do a little cutty-cutty
Was able to fit the spotlight into the 3D printed part and then airbrushed in some white to make it look like 1 unit.
Also airbrushed the red and black power wires

I also found a glass lens that I bought a while ago from Unilight. Turns out it fits perfectly and they seriously double the intensity of the light!
The green/yellow/red lights are silicon fuel line that was rolled up and stuffed in the holes and then flush cut with an exacto

Steering servo is a Savox 2270. From other F14’s, go mega torque!... steering needs it.
Used a metal Secraft arm drilled with 1/8 bit with a plastic nyrod insert for the clevis.
