Do any of you fine gentlemen have a way to keep Silicone from drying out in the tube so quickly?

Buy a tube, use a bit, clean threads, don't suck air back into tube, replace cover, wrap wrap around cap, try again a week later and it's ALL cured!! AAARRRGGGHHH!!

Very occassionally I will luck out and get a bit by cutting the bottom of the tube, BUT!!!!

    Ideas hints welcomed.

Try putting some Vaseline in the cap and put it back on. Next time push the silicone through and clean out the top of the tube. Repete as needed.
I have some tubes 5 years old

Thank you Taz, and the other guys who replied to this query.
Interesting though; yesterday morning I had about 10 answers to this question, now it's been edited down to 1.
