Re: Carden 124 Pro and 109 "Mini Pro" -Carbon Edition-

    Picture flood!

I got the fuse and MB mocked up and ready for glue! All the CF square tube has been cut and mounted in place. I also decided to use tiny CF rod for the cross pieces because I can pin them into the fuse sides.... and.... I had a ton of the stuff laying around.... so I used it :/

Fuse glue up should happen sometime today! I need to order main wheels and tail wheels! Ugh, and I need 2 SETS!!! $$$$!!!!

Pinning those tubes into the fuse side is a sweet upgrade man. Great thinking there!!!

Always stuff to learn by reading this stuff

SWEET!... the glue is drying on the fuse! Once this dries, Iíll add the CF framework to the bottom, finish up the tail/tailwheel support and get this fuse off the work bench!

It looks like your using epoxy on some of the CF and Hysol on others? If so what would be the purpose? Great job BTW

Looking great Craig. Just one question. I see you used hysol in the front of the plane but what glue are you using for the carbon pieces in the rear. Looks cloudy / clear. Another hysol formula. Looks kinda like 3M glue?

Re: Carden 124 Pro and 109 "Mini Pro" -Carbon Edition-

Good catch!... you guys are paying closer attention than I thought!

I used Hysol 9462 on the lugs because I wanted a little thicker fillet between the square CF and the rod. I really wanted that glue to stay where I put it.

The rest of the carbon fiber was done with Hysol Eons because it’s a little thinner and I wanted it to fill in nicely around the square/rod (by itself). I probably could have used 9462 but I would have had to work the glue into the corners a little more.

Re: Carden 124 Pro and 109 "Mini Pro" -Carbon Edition-

Big ole fantastic morning in the shop!

I got the tailwheel and battery hatch support done! I also got all the bottom fuse support and cross pieces installed!

Just a few more CF pieces to install before I pop the fuse off the building board! Then I start ALL OVER on the 109
