Hi,
Looking for some advice here.
I'm running 2 M1HA/B E260 24VDC motors off of a Jet 3 Ultra power chair. I'm using a TTX410 radio linked to a Sabertooth 2 x 25 motor controller.

I am having issues with this controller to the point that my creation almost broke my foot yesterday as it spun out of control and hit me before I could kill the power.
The unit is running off of the deep cycle U1 batteries and wiring harness that came with the chair that includes a 50 Amp circuit breaker. I'm being told by the manufacturer of the MC that I need a 70 Amp controller for this with a surge protector. I have my doubts regarding this as I have never popped that 50 circuit breaker which means I've never pulled more than 50 Amps of current through it. The manufacture is also telling me that the over current has damaged the controller hence the control issues I'm seeing. They advertise that there is overcurrent protection built into the MC so I can't damage it with too large of a motor. The discussion regarding this is continuing.
I'm looking for suggestions on other types of MC's that I should look at incase I need to change this one out.
The sabretooth states it can support 25 Amps per channel with up to 50 Amps per channel for a few seconds. I would say I need to have at least this amount of ability. It also needs to support tank drive and I would like it to have a fail safe in the even I lose contact with it.
Any suggestions?
