    Smoke Nozzles

    John Craven and I decided to try some of these “Bad Dog Smoke Nozzles” after reading tons of great reviews on FG.

    Some cool design and the nozzle shape is more what you would see in an industrial application... real nozzles

    We ordered a pair of 28mm for his GP176 and 2 pair of 25mm for some 120 or 60cc applications!

    Here is the For Sale Ad.....

    Here is a kit containing 1 pair of 28mm nozzles...

    Re: Smoke Nozzles

    Pretty simple design!...

    * threaded curved flange nut
    * nozzle threads in
    * contoured spacer
    * locknut to bring it all together!!

    Re: Smoke Nozzles

    Drilled a 6mm hole per the instructions. Pulled the flanged nut through with string. Positioned the spray nozzle to spray back into exhaust flow.

    Super easy to install!!

    Re: Smoke Nozzles

    Also did a preheat coil on each header using some really nice SS instrumentation tubing which is also tacked to the headers.

    Used the braided Buna-N tuning from Powerbox for the high-heat connections.

    Excited to see how it works!!!

    Re: Smoke Nozzles

    Hey Fellas, I suppose I could go into a little more detail about these nozzles and why they work as well as some of the unique features.

    First off there are 3 types of products that are offered. Atomizing Smoke nozzles, Atomizing turbine smoke tubes, and an accessory item for the smoke nozzles called a no-weld kit. All components are Stainless Steel with the exception of the captured lock washer locking nuts for smoke nozzles & turbine clamps included with turbine smoke tubes. Steel locking nuts and clamps are used in place of SST here. Smoke nozzles are also offered in Titanium material.

    Smoke nozzles are precision machined from solid material and offer depth adjustment and directional positioning adjustment, consistency in flow volume and spray pattern. Perfect for single or multi-cylinder applications. A very small orifice size for decreased oil consumption and increased time per tank (subject to crimped nozzle design), very small droplet size, & expelled fluid velocity is slowed substantially aiding in more complete burning or smoke generation. The droplet size of expelled fluid as it leaves the surface of the nozzle is extremely small which aids in faster vaporization of smoke fluid and minimizing inherent muffler cooling and unburnt blow-by resulting in a oil covered airplane. Drill and tap your muffler (10-32 threads) in the proper location to direct the spray across, but not up and into the exhaust port opening.

    Turbine smoke tubes utilize the same style atomizing orifice tips and are offered in 2 orifice sizes: Standard or High Output nozzle orifices for 200 size turbines and larger. Turbine smoke tubes produce a flat fan ultra fine mist for jet turbine applications. Smoke tubes available 3/16" diameter in 10", 12", or 14" lengths. Features one piece TIG welded full Stainless Steel construction, Flared end for better tubing retention, Kink free tube bending system, and universal mounting clips.

    No-weld kits are offered as a smoke nozzle accessory item for guys wanting to run header and canister style exhaust systems. Simply measure your header OD pipe size, drill a hole and bolt on the adapter. Nozzles are then added to the adapter for a no fuss installation.
