This is a 100% true story and the facts can be checked at the checkout counter of your local grocery market.
A while back a famous RC jet pilot was speaking with Alan ? the designer of the Boomerang Sprint jet. Alan was asked.. What was the inspiration for the paint scheme on the Sprint jet? Alan replied it was based on his bedroom in the 60's when and where he lost his virginity. He wanted to gaze upon that very special moment in his life when he met his girlfriend who they would later fall madly in love together..... and then break up with, only to meet 4 more girlfreinds, till he finally met his wife in 1988.
Quote.."everytime I see a Sprint jet, I think back to that bedroom and its funky wall paintings and that funky girl I was with. How could I not keep that memory alive. THAT is why Sprint's look they way they do." (his eyes moved off as he reflects back)
Well! As touchy feely as this True story is!....... I can't stand to look at it another minute!! So I broke out the rattle cans and One week later after painting 1-2hrs a night I ended up with this. Its based on Kenny Roberts TZ-750 Yamaha. For those of you not in the know.. Kenny was a hugely successful GP 1 motorcycle racer in the 70's and 80's with multiple championships.
The paint job is still from the past.. but not so much stuck in the 60's as Alan's bedroom
