    T-One build

While at Best In The West out in California in early October, I picked up a new T-One jet that I had ordered back in August. It managed to survive being in the back of my pickup for some 5,000 km. Definitely well packaged.

Yesterday I finally had a chance to unbox it and have a good look at what I got. And I got a beauty. The build quality on this jet is outstanding. And the hardware package appears to have good quality stuff as well.

Since my flying season is pretty much over, I'll be taking my time and building this one carefully. I'll post progress occasionally.

Beautiful! Orange presents so nicely against a blue sky or white clouds, it's a great colour for RC planes.

Shweeet! I am keeping an eye on this thread.

I have my name on the waiting list, but I don't have any idea when/where my name is on the order of shipments. Seems too good to be true for the price.

What turbine are you planning to install??

    Re: T-One build

She'll be powered by a B100F from Peter at Altecare. I figure 27lbs of go should move a 27lb jet right along.

This is my first jet with a strut mounted steering servo. I'm in love with that! So easy to set up.

And yes, I've applied LocTite to all the bolts on the retracts, as well as slightly trimming the trunion locks.

    Re: T-One build

One thing RCPete and I noticed while messing around with his T-One at BITW is that the equipment tray is only supported at the ends. This allows the middle of the tray to bounce up and down just a bit. If you have a gyro on the tray, this could potentially have an adverse affect. So, I added a couple of rails for more support.

    Re: T-One build

While reading the forums and Facebook posts about the T-One, several people mentioned issues with servo horns and push rod installations. Here's my solution. Note that it does require widening the servo horn slot. Fortunatly, the holes already in the control surface horn are perfectly sized for the 4-40 bolt. I'm not using the supplied ball links, instead I'm using DuBro 4-40 ball links. The supplied ball links appear to be for 3mm threaded rod while the supplied rods appear to be 2.5mm or 2mm. They simply slide in and out of the supplied ball links, however they fit the 4-40 ball links nice and tight.

    Re: T-One build

Would anyone know where I could order some 90 degree elbow barb fittings to replace these ones?

    Thanks,
