I'll take a picture this evening.
Yes, never run an IBEC or ignition through the Aura8, I actually run my throttles and IBEC right from the power box. I take a servo extension lead and split off the power (red / black) from the Signal (White). I run the white wire direct to the receiver and run the power into the power board. This works well because of the common ground between the receiver / Aura / Power Board.

Thanks Cosmith
Although he doesn't have the AR9110 in hand, he's not sure how he would hook it to the Aura and Smartly for his 50cc, and yes, some pictures would be outstanding.
Two notes of interest, we need an remote engine kill at our field, and the PWM/no proportional gain thing is a bummer.
Is the 9110 not "SBUS" or whatever the Spektrum equivalent is?
Most of us use the Tech Aero IBEC.
Dave explained on another board why PWM is not his favorite either.
Thanks for any help

Thanks Joe.
Another flying buddy is using the two satellite set up in a 30 cc plane, but he doesn't have a powerbox, Smartly, or powerboard.
I know the "Powerbox" as a 3W item. Is that what you're referring to?
If not, please educate me on the alternatives to it or the Smartlfy.
With that being said, if he's not using a powerbox/board, can he just split the power wires on his IBEC and run just the signal to the Aura, then power the IBEC with a seperate battery and switch?
Thanks
Bob

This is the power distribution board that I use. It's built sturdy and has excellent battery sharing capabilities. There are many alternatives to a "Smart-Fly" that are equally as good if not better depending on what you're using it for.
The one I'm using is below, it's the Booma RC 8/24. 8 ports in 24 ports out, they also come in 12/32

That's a hard one, because if you use a completely different power source, you'll end up with a floating ground, meaning that the signal that goes to the IBEC will most likely not work reliably. But if he is using a 2S battery, he can plug the power leads through the balance port, at least it's part of the same circuit.

That is a hard one, and kind of a downer for those that want an Aura on a smaller plane that uses an IBEC to comply with the remote kill criteria and rule.
Not sure what that board weighs, or costs, but it adds those two variables to an otherwise simple set up.
Not everyone has an "SBUS" receiver either, at least in our area.
They are still using the older 2.4 receivers so they don't have to run out and buy the latest and greatest.
I say that because the other alternative would be to use an "SBUS" type receiver and run the kill through the receiver.
That's what I did, and tell me if you think this is ok?
In my 30cc Aura planes I run an "SBUS" receiver with the throttle servo, IBEC, and it's own battery hooked to it.
I then use another seprate battery through the Aura.
This has been working, but I'd like to be sure there's no "gotchas" in there.
Take Care
You're the best!

Forgot to ask, is the Booma board sold with Deans connectors by any chance?
I don't mind trying the board, but it would be another bummer to have to make or buy adapters.
Thanks again

I was able to get tot he Booma site from work, which doesn't always happen.
It's great to see where there are choices for connectors.
The other thing is, are there any US distributors, or how convenient or inconvenient is it to ship to the US from Booma.
Still very interested in pictures or larger set ups with the Booma boxes, switches, and whatever else it takes to get a
30 to 50cc plane going with the Aura.
Thanks
Bob

RedwingRC also carries some of their products.
So Joe, you are saying we can't use a TechAero Ultra IBEC off the Aura?? That's going to kill some of the appeal for Spektrum users...I was really hoping to be able to use this with a couple satellites and no additional RX/Powerboard on smaller gassers, say 20cc to 60cc. I guess that ruins my plan of eliminating my RX on 60cc Yak. Any idea why? The IBEC is supposed to remove any interference from the ignition, and there are a crap ton of them out there safely powering ignitions from traditional RXs.
