That's more like it, looking forward to the RE3 results also.

Colin a would take his offer on that cannister up as the stock mufflers have been known to fail pretty quickly, no point hacking a cowl to fit it then going to cannister later.

Have a feeling you will be inclined to buy a RE3 shortly though lol.

    DJ72 w/ 60cc Hype Pipe

Well.. bit of a trend developing here. The Hype Pipe and PB SmoothPipe are incredible pipes and on most 60cc and 120cc motors we have seen 350-500rpm increases and a huge tolerance to headerlength (ie: hdr length doesn't affect them much).

While this Hype Pipe gave us gains over canisters, best I could get was only about 200rpm.... about the same gain as the large Mintor canister.

Again... leading me to the conclusion that a 60cc exhaust is choking this 72cc motor.

    Love the sound

I really couldn't hardly see any difference between 10" header and 12". I'd suggest (based on experience with other motors) to run around 11.5"... seems to work well on other motors.

    DJ72 w/ ES Composites 55g CF Pipe

Nope... this pipe will not work on this motor. Major choking. It is a 55cc pipe and wow... less RPM than the 60cc canisters regardless of what header length I used.

And the pipe got really hot. Tuning was off on the motor. Just not right.

Only think I really like... a beautiful refined sound to it. Best sound next to the 80cc Mintor canister

    Menz24x8.... 6700
    Falcon 25x8W... 6400
Didn't test the rest... not worth it and was cooking my CF pipe, LOL

    Re: DJ 72cc GTS

    DJ72 w/ 90cc RE3 Pipe

I'll start by saying my feelings are mixed on this one. While I was able to get nearly 400rpm gain over 60cc canisters (~200rpm gain over the 80cc Mintor canister), there is major peakiness in the midrange. Reminds me of a couple years ago before Hype Pipes and Smoothpipes where tuned pipes would mess up midrange linearity without major headerlength tuning .

I've tried 10" to 14" headerlength and some changes in rpm and some lengths are a bit better than others, but still not right.

I think I need to go shorter than 10", but I don't want to hack up Colin's 10" header, considering 10" works on many of the other exhaust.

So for now... not my recommended, but potential.

I would love to try a Large Hype Pipe or Large SmoothPipe.

    Re: DJ 72cc GTS

    Conclusions.

This motor needs bigger exhaust than 60cc size to get max performance.

If Colin goes with the 60cc canisters or pipes, I'd just keep an eye on engine temps to make sure the slight choking doesn't cause issues.

Potential with an RE3, but need to check headerlength below 10". A better test would be to run a Large HypePipe or Large Smoothpipe

Colin... please, please take this 80cc Mintor can and try it... I think you will be extremely happy

    Re: DJ 72cc GTS

Take the canister I think it would be much smoother operating engine..
Your going to enjoy the insane throttle response along with the added HP,either way.
Mike from Milehigh will be selling engines much faster now, thanks to tbrum!

And the price will jump 100$ real soon lol. Like Tom selling be. First motors out the door 100$ off.then jump the price lol. Good tactics get in early Colin.

Ha! This is just some initial stuff. Only way to know how this motor will work is in the air and you guys have experience on that front.

This shouldn't sell more motors. Yours' and Colin's videos of it in action might though!!

    Re: DJ 72cc GTS

Still would like to see what it would do on the rite Hypepipe or Smooth.I never did care for the RE2 that I have because of the peakiness. You can tell people what you think all day long, but seeing is believing.
