    Re: DJ 72cc GTS

Was a little surprised, kind of hoping for similar results to Raydar's.. But still an upgrade from what I had, so we'll see how it does with more running.

It has cubes, cubes equal power, we don't measure torque but that video of the plane riding the prop says tons.
If it's rpm we are after we should borrow a skyline

Okay guys... reran the stock muffler numbers today... definitely better looking numbers. Now up there with Raydar's numbers.

I'm sure after breakin it'll climb another 100rpm to get the 25x8W to 6700.

Not sure what happened yesterday? I have about 3.5L through it now.

    Now in GP61/DA60/3W55 territory

    DJ72 w/ EME60 canister

Very similar #'s to the stock muffler - just a hair better on all props. So nice to not have to listen to that nasty muffer.

Colin's MTW header is 10". I tried headerlengths from 10-12"... above 11.5" it started to fall off. I would recommend trying it at 10" with the ability to adjust to 10.5" after a few flights

    DJ72 w/ Hype canister

What a sweet sounding canister!! Love these cans. Lorne has a real winner here.

No difference in rpm on any of the props over the EME60 canister. The beauty with these cans (and the pipes) is that they are very tolerant to header length... performance and mid-range linearity change very little. Played with header from 10-12" and no real change on this motor either.

    DJ72 w/ Mintor 80cc Large canister

Okay... some interesting findings here! Kinda confirms a theory that this 72cc motor on 60cc cans is being restricted. With the larger Mintor80cc canister, rpm's jumped up 150-200rpm on the range of props!! Starting to get some impressive #'s.

Also, no sure if you can hear the difference, but sounds like a little Ferrari with the engine spooled up. AWESOME!!!

The 10" headerlength also works awesome!!

If Colin can fit it in, I've offered to give him this canister!! I'll weight the difference, but likely not much (2-3oz) because this canister is billet machined AL. A little work of art.
